I am officially Danish. I made the big move “home” to Denmark about a year ago (in 2013) after being away for 18 years living in Switzerland, Ireland and England, so I’m quite international.
Why and when did you get involved with the CTC?
I’ve always been passionate about theatre, especially musical theatre. In addition to this, I had the best time of my life working as a backstage technician in a professional theatre in England for 2+ years. So I wanted to get back into it here in Copenhagen and heard about the CTC not long after I arrived.
How have you been involved with the CTC?
I started with The Dining Room, being assistant director, stage manager, set assistant and lighting operator – a bit of a mouthful for a first-timer but I enjoyed every second of it. Most recently I have been production manager for Beyond Therapy which has been challenging but a great learning curve. Finally, in the future… well I’m not sure I’m allowed to announce it yet, but you might be lucky (I hope lucky) to catch me ON stage for a change.
What is your favourite play?
I went on a drama trip to London years ago, and we saw a play called The Market Boy by David Eldrige, one of the most captivating and entertaining play I have seen to date: script, actors, set, everything!
Who would you cast as yourself in a movie of your life?
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Cameron (Diaz), Ace (Ventura), Rosanna (Pansino)
Dinner for four – you and 3 others – living or otherwise – who would you invite and why?
Jackie Chan – he is just one of my favourites- The Drunken Master, Rush Hour, Shanghai Knights etc.
William Shakespeare – appreciate, understand and love his work- most of all, I would love to talk with him in ‘his’ language
Ian McKellen – such an inspirational individual with passion for life and his work (and come on, he was in LOTR and the Hobbit!)
– Cæcilie Laybourn
