Krudttønden (Stalden), Serridslevvej 2, 2100 Kbh. Ø (www.krudttonden.dk)
To commemorate 100 years since his death, the International Theatre of Malmö (ITM) presents in English two “chamber plays” by August Strindberg.
The Stronger, one of his most famous plays, is an intriguing “conversation” between two actresses in a Swedish café that could take place today.
Simoom is a rarely performed but fascinating piece about a deadly battle of wills between a French legionnaire and an Arab woman in the Algerian desert.
There is limited street parking near the venue, although there is underground parking for 130 cars accessible from the corner of Serridslevvej and Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads, beside the theatre. Be aware, however, that there can be great demand for parking in connection with events in nearby Fælledparken or the National Stadium (Parken). We would therefore recommend taking public transport. The nearest S-train station is Nordhavn. The venue can easily be reached by buses 1A, 14, 40 and 401.
ITM is an open and inclusive, primarily English-speaking theatre in Skåne. We hold productions, play-readings, acting workshops and other theatre-related events. Our previous foray into the dramatic world of Vaclav Havel was described as “spellbinding” by Lunds Universitets Magasin. COPENHAGEN THEATRE CIRCLE
This English-speaking group of theatre enthusiasts has been providing Copenhagen audiences with high-quality drama in English for well over 40 years. It presents 2–3 stage productions for the general public each year and hosts play-readings, improvisation courses and all manner of other theatre and acting-related events throughout the season. It is also a great place for newcomers to meet like-minded souls who love taking an active role in theatre productions (www.ctcircle.dk).
