Panto Auditions 2020: Beauty and the Beast

Auditions for Beauty and the Beast!

Would you like much more than this provincial life?
Audition for CTC’s 2020 pantomime!

“Beauty and the Beast” by Ben Crocker, directed by David Barrett, will run from X to Y at Z in Copenhagen. Auditions will take place from the 2nd to the 6th of September, 2019 (for more information, see below).

Pantomime (informally panto) is a type of musical comedy stage production designed for family entertainment. Modern pantomime includes songs, slapstick comedy and dancing, employs gender-crossing actors, and combines topical humour with a story loosely based on a well-known fairy tale or story. In this case, our base will be the traditional fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast“.

We are looking for actors of all ages with a sense of fun who enjoy high-energy theatre, singing, dancing, audience participation and even some cross-dressing! Even if you’ve never tried singing or dancing on stage, we’re looking for all types of talent.

If you would like to audition, please fill out the form via this link.

A personalised audition form will then be sent to your email to fill out.

For the auditions, please prepare a short funny monologue (max. 2 minutes in length, you can find some inspiration here) and a song.  The list of songs to choose from for the audition can be found here.  You will also be asked to do some cold readings from the script.

(Can’t sing? No problem, neither can the Director. But regardless of the level of your singing talents, we still would like everyone to join in on the big numbers as part of the chorus! Therefore, please come to the audition prepared to sing a song.)

Not interested in acting, but still want to get involved?

If you are interested in helping out backstage, for example with costume sewing or set building, props, light or sound, drop us an e-mail at or fill out the audition form and mention you are only interested in the production tasks and we will contact you!

About the play:

A superb script. Packed with humour and new invention. The dame appears briefly in drag – as a man! The audience fall in love with a fast talking French poodle. Simple staging, lots of opportunities for Chorus work and a compelling relationship between Beauty and her Beast.

  • MALABELLE (A wicked witch)
  • MA (The Dame. Beauty and Jacques’ mum)
