Fringe Festival 2019

The CTC is proud to present its fifth annual Fringe Festival: a series of one-act plays showcasing up and coming directors, playwrights and actors over three nights of solid entertainment. For more information, check out our pages for our first, secondthird, and fourth festivals.

All shows will be performed at Krudttønden. The performances will be May 2 – 4, 2019.

Now accepting applications

The festival is open to anyone keen to try out their directing skills without having to put on a full-length production. We welcome experienced directors, new directors and I-have-written-my-own-play-and-want-to-showcase-it directors.

Applications for directors are now open. The application deadline is Friday, February 8, 2019.

Guidelines for play choice

Weekend Workshop

March 23 & 24, 2019

Once again, the CTC is pleased to offer a director’s workshop during the rehearsal process. A professional director will review and offer constructive feedback for all festival shows during a weekend workshop mid-way through the rehearsal process. The goal is to offer our directors and actors helpful critique to continue to develop their shows and increase the overall quality of the festival. This is a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with a professional director here in Copenhagen.

This year, three impartial members of a jury will watch all the final festival performances to determine winners in three categories. We will also poll our audience members to determine a “Best of Fest,” or People’s choice award. All festival shows will be considered for an award.

  1. Best Original Script or Adaptation
  2. Best Director
  3. Best Performance
  4. Best of Fest (People’s Choice)

The awards will be announced during the cast party which takes place on Saturday evening after the final performance. Winners will receive a (non-monetary) prize and lots of bragging rights.

Auditions for Actors

We welcome actors of all experience levels to come audition for our Fringe Festival. With so many plays to cast we always need a wide-range of actors and there are lots of opportunities to get involved. More information on auditions coming soon. If you have any questions, please write to

Rehearsals will be arranged individually with the directors and held at a location of their choosing. All cast are expected to help with the get-out on Sunday, May 5.
