Take Me to Church: The Drag Service is a semi-improvised and semi-devised interactive theatrical experience, meaning that though it started with a structured plot and a script, the performers wrote their own characters and their own lines so the show is unique to them!
This variety show is a wacky, indulgent venture into the diverse world of drag, wrapped up in an entertaining murder-mystery, where the audience gets to decide the fate of the cast!
The show will be approximately two hours long, not including the intermission.
The first act will welcome the audience to one of the church’s weekly sermons where they’ll meet the congregation: good, God-fearing, and humble members. Unfortunately, this covenant has fallen on hard times and must rely on donations to stay open. In fact, it’s so bad that they’ve had to rent out their beautiful space to a rather seedy bunch during nighttime.
During the second act, you’ll be introduced to the seedy and sultry nighttime church members, who are certain to arouse, if not arouse suspicion. Stay after mass to unravel the mystery of the two congregations, find out who committed murder, and witness the debauchery of the nighttime court.
Take Me to Church is suggested for ages 15+ due to mature themes, strong language, sexual situations, violence, blood, and gore.
Meet the Cast
Zaddy Salem is a definitive force in Copenhagen’s Drag scene. Crowned as Satan's cute little brother, this grotesque, seductive and funny fuckboy, has been captivating his audience from day one, with his horrific, charming monster-character, leaving the audience wanting more!
With each of his performances like a small capsule, a little story with it’s own fantasy, Zaddy draws theatrical inspiration from a (molotov) cocktail of themes: horror literature, cult films, video games, the occult, special effects-gore, 80’s fantasy, Sci-fi, and with a clear tribute to the campy Club Kids of London, Berlin, Paris and New York, Zaddy evokes a dark, nostalgic aesthetic.
Zaddy’s normcritical caricature of the toxic cisgendered man, pushes the stereotypes and challenge the trope that ONLY the straight-passing white alpha-male can take the leading spot on stage and even in life.. It is time for the monsters, the freaks, creeps and misfit’s to be the main character, hunty! Go get your supervillain-beast mode on, and get ready to gag on Zaddy Salem as the Priest “Father Untucked”.

Beano Seraphino is a king in a dress, unapologetically embracing gender-fuckery in all forms. He is a romantic and an artist at heart, but also a big clown-weirdo of a human bean. With his comedic expressions, he charms his audience, his satiric and political commentary challenges their perceptions, and his (unexpectedly sexy) reveals leave them wanting more.

Meet the Directors
Randy Manwhore has been on the Copenhagen amateur drag scene for the past two years, while Sir Render and Kingston Colt have a longer running history. The trio originally met in conjunction as they started to plan an all Drag Kings night at a local bar, but ideas quickly developed into creating a space for amateur drag performers to network with the community at large. Take Me to Church: The Drag Service is their dream to make more than just a show, but a way to open the community for amateurs and professional drag performers to form a family, and learn and grow in their drag performance.
Randy Manwhore is serving as the show director. Previously he has written and directed six shows for the Austin Fringe Festival, Westlake Theatre, and the Binary Theatre Company. He also has a background in costume design, and as the Production Manager for the Binary Theatre Company.
