The Holidays are a Drag

December 1st-6th 2026

In collaboration with Drag Show CPH

'The Holidays are a Drag' is a fully devised drag-theatre experience that reimagines the classic holiday family gathering through a camp, chaotic, and heartfelt lens. Set around a dinner table where tensions simmer hotter than the roast, this show explores the universal highs and lows of family dynamics—love, frustration, and reconciliation—with all the flair and exaggeration of drag performance, burlesque, dramatic monologues, musical performance, and other performance types.

This piece celebrates chosen and biological families, highlighting both the humor and the tenderness of being "home for the holidays"—whatever that means.

PLEASE take the time to read the audition form thoroughly.

Experience is not a requirement to audition or participate in this show as this is an open audition call.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out to dragshowcph@gmail.com.

What kind of performers are we looking for?

🌟 Respect – Lift your fellow performers; leave diva behaviour offstage.
🎭 Adaptability – Devised work = changes. You’ll shape the show AND respond to direction.
✨ Stage presence – Whether camp drag or quiet monologue, you know how to hold a room.
🧠 Maturity – Take responsibility for your time, communication, and craft.
💥 Uniqueness – Singing, rollerblading, clown, burlesque, stand-up… mix your talents with drag. We want acts that only you could bring.

The Holidays are a Drag is built on respect and inclusion.
