Copenhagen Theatre Circle (CTC) proudly presents The Matchmaker, Thornton Wilder’s classic farce. This fast-paced comedy of love, money, and mistaken identities comes to life this November at Biblioteket Rentemestervej. Performed in English.
A story of love, money, and mischief
Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy merchant in 19th-century New York, decides to take a wife. To help, he hires the irrepressible Dolly Gallagher Levi – a matchmaker with more than a few plans of her own. What follows is a whirlwind of misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and surprising romances, as Dolly carefully nudges every character toward an unexpected but joyful ending.
A comedy for all ages
With a lively mix of seasoned CTC performers and fresh new talent, The Matchmaker promises an evening of humour and heart, designed to delight Copenhagen’s diverse, international audiences. Family-friendly and suitable for all ages, the play runs approximately 150 minutes including interval.
